The DC Metro MSSA chapter had a great day aboard the Miss Susie out of Solomon’s island on April 22. Ten anglers caught their limit on the afternoon trip, with the big fish being 47”. Wes won $50 in the big fish pool. Eight year old Ryan caught the most fish. The captain, Greg Buckner, and the mate, Tad, were fantastic. Everyone had a great time and can’t wait to do it all again. Anyone who fishes out of their own boat can really appreciate a charter. It is great to let a good captain and mate run all the gear for you for the day. Well worth the price of admission. We plan to do a chapter trip quarterly, so stay tuned for the next opportunity.

The DC Metro MSSA chapter will meet Wednesday August 4 at 7:30pm.

Our guest speaker will be Captain Chris Dollar, owner of Kent Island Kayaks, and kayak fishing guide will be our guest speaker.  Capt Chris will be sharing valuable tips and information on Kayak Fishing in the Middle and Upper bay.  This will be an informative and useful presentation for all saltwater anglers.  BRING A FRIEND!  Visit the Kent Island Kayaks website: www.cdollaroutdoors.com.  We are all looking forward to the presentation.

As usual, we will be sharing fishing reports and tips.  We will also be discussing the Live-Lining season, the great Tuna bite off the coast, and the upcoming White Marlin Open.  Some beverages and chips will be provided.  Door prizes will be Great! including some nice gear and offshore lures and a Brand New Live-Liner spinning reel!  Our upcoming trip on the Miss Susie out of Solomon’s with Capt Greg Buckner is a complete sell-out.  Thanks to all who are participating on Aug 10.  At the last meeting there were some great fishing reports/tips and as you can see from the Flickr photos that have been shared, the catch has been great also.

Don’t miss the meeting, Wednesday August 4 at 7:30pm at 4805 Edgemoor ln, Room A, Bethesda, MD 20814 (Meeting Location). There is plenty of parking and the meeting room is only a block from the metro (red line, Bethesda station).
